Godrej Verano's architecture is by UHA London, part of a three-practice international roster alongside PL Design, Bangkok for landscape and Atelier, Mumbai for interiors.
International design appointments are common in Gurugram marketing and less common in Gurugram outcomes. Here is what the appointment plausibly changes, and how to check whether it survived to construction.
What an international architect actually affects
On a residential tower, the architect's decisions that reach you as a resident are narrower than buyers assume — but they are the decisions that matter most:
- Massing and tower placement. How four towers sit on 11.36 acres determines sightlines, privacy and whether the 81% open greens read as one landscape or as gaps.
- Floor plate efficiency. How much of each floor is usable versus corridor and core.
- Facade and shading. Whether the west face is protected, whether balconies are recessed, how glazing handles the Gurugram summer.
- Unit orientation. The east-west facing decision across all residences is an architectural one.
Why the east-west decision is the tell
Planning every residence east-west on a site is harder than it sounds. It constrains tower geometry, reduces the number of units per floor plate, and costs saleable area. A developer optimising purely for yield does not make that choice.
At Verano it delivers Aravali views on one aspect, open skyline on the other, and limits southern exposure — which in practice is the difference between a west-baked living room and one usable at 4pm. That single decision does more for daily comfort than any facade treatment.
Reading the elevation critically
When you see the elevation renders, look past the material palette. Check balcony depth, whether balconies are recessed into the massing or cantilevered, and how much of the west and south faces are glass. Those three details predict your electricity bill.
Also look at the podium and ground-level interface. Bay living depends on the tower meeting the landscape well — a hard podium edge with service access at grade undermines 8 acres of landscape behind it.
Low tower count is an architectural constraint, not just a marketing number
Four towers on 11.36 acres means each tower carries more units vertically, or the total unit count stays low. Ask which. A four-tower plan with very tall, wide floor plates delivers a different experience from four slender towers — the first gets you more neighbours per lobby core, the second gets you fewer.
That question — units per floor per core — is worth more than any render. Check it against the floor plans when they release.
What to verify at site visit stage
Once a sample or show apartment exists, walk it against the drawings. Ceiling height, actual balcony depth, window sizes and the position of structural columns inside rooms are where drawing and building diverge. Book a site visit and take the dimensioned plan with you.
FAQs
Who is the architect of Godrej Verano?
Godrej Verano's architecture is by UHA London, with landscape by PL Design, Bangkok and interiors by Atelier, Mumbai.
Are all Godrej Verano apartments east-west facing?
Yes. The residences are planned east-west facing for Aravali views, an open skyline and better daylight through the day.
How many towers does Godrej Verano have?
Only 4 towers, spread across an 11.36-acre parcel with roughly 81% of the site kept as open greens.
Does an international architect mean higher quality construction?
Not automatically. Design and construction are separate. Assess the architecture on the drawings and the construction on the developer's delivery record.
